Amaiwana - New Shibuya / New Wave LP ( VINYL )

A work by Amaiwana influenced by Shibuya-kei, new wave, and techno pop.

The EPs 'NEW SHIBUYA' and 'NEW WAVE', which will be released on the same day in October 2024, are included as double A-sides, and mixed and mastered by American musician Ginger Root. 'NEW SHIBUYA' also includes 'COVER GIRLS' featuring Shibuya-kei queen Maki Nomiya, making it a work that carries the Shibuya-kei spirit into the Reiwa era. It also includes 'Shanghai Shoujo ', which is called the Shanghai trilogy along with Amaiwana's previously released 'Shanghai Wakusei (2020)' and 'Shanghai Aibiki (2023)'. In addition, 'NEW WAVE' is a self-remix of the songs included in 'NEW SHIBUYA' into techno pop and new wave. The arrangements are influenced by Plastics, Hikashu, Miharu Koshi, as well as 80's techno pop, and although the original is the same song, the resulting songs have completely different faces. The jacket art was also done by Amaiwana himself, depicting a new 'Shibuya-kei' and 'New Wave' that can be seen on either side. Tracklist: Side A New Shibuya 1.
