Dick Stusso – In Heaven LP ( VINYL )
Description
Dick Stusso is a rock and roll eccentric, who twists the well-worn conventions of doo-wop, blues, gospel and country into surreal shapes. The son of a Bay Area rock professional (dad played sax for the Doobie Brothers), he operates in a shadowy twilight zone of indie rock endeavor, alongside weirdo traditionalists like Mark Sultan and Brother JT. He home-taped his 2015 debut Nashville Dreams/Sings the Blues and intended to do the same with the follow-up. Fate intervened, however, when a burglar made off with a three-quarters finished album. Forced to regroup, he redid the whole record under the guidance of Greg Ashley, an artist who knows a thing or two about stretched, skewed and transmogrified guitar blues.
